Casey Anderson, Environmental, Safety and Health Manager; Lockheed Martin Corp.

Mr. Anderson is the Environmental, Safety and Health Manager of the ESH Business Support Team for Missiles and Fire Control at Lockheed Martin. He joined Lockheed Martin in 2007 after several years with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and environmental consulting. His experience includes air permitting for utility and chemical facilities, site remediation, and industrial operations. He is responsible for ESH programs and processes for MFC's US and UK operations and works closely with embedded ESH staff across multiple sites to implement and maintain Lockheed Martin's ESH Management System. Mr. Anderson holds a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager and Certified Safety Professional.

Caitlin Bergman, Senior Product Manager; Enablon

Caitlin Bergman is the Product Manager of Enablon’s Compliance products, aiming to make sure these products address customer needs. She develops and maintains the roadmap by staying up to date on market and regulatory trends, and through open discussions with customers and partners. She communicates the product strategy with stakeholders, then turns product dreams into reality. Caitlin started her career in the nuclear power industry, performing inspection analysis and risk assessments on high-energy piping. She has been published by the Electrical Power Research Institute on underground piping and tanks management at nuclear power plants.

Lauren Cecil is the Acting Capital Engineering Director at AdvanSix – a fully integrated manufacturer of nylon 6 resin, chemical intermediates and ammonium sulfate fertilizer. Lauren is responsible for managing and analyzing the capital portfolio across AdvanSix and working closely with finance to meet business objectives. Leading a team of 20 professionals, she is transforming the Project Controls organization and the capital management process at AdvanSix.

 

Lauren brings more than 13 years of experience focusing her career in the chemical manufacturing industry. Since graduating with a Chemical Engineering degree from Michigan State University she has held positions of increasing responsibility at the site and corporate levels and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Prior to joining AdvanSix, she was the Business Engineering Director for Advanced Materials at Honeywell; where she was responsible for prioritizing capital projects against the business strategy.

Candace DiCresce is the Senior Director of Safety & Well-being at Rogers Communications, where she leads a talented team that is driven by a passion for supporting our employees' safety and well-being at work and in their lives.

 

Candace has over 20 years of experience in consulting, industry, and the public sector, including working for Deloitte, MDS, and the Toronto Transit Commission. She has led sizeable global and local teams, and a wide range of risks ranging from working at heights to hearing conservation, and from hazardous materials management to global supply chain responsibility strategy. Her current focus is on driving strategic integration of safety, disability management, and wellness at Rogers into a holistic function that protects and enriches employee physical and mental well-being.

 

Candace holds a B.A.Sc. in civil engineering from the University of Toronto, is a proud professional engineer, and is the grateful mother to two weird and wonderful tweens.

 

David Eherts, Vice President Global EHS; Allergan plc

David Eherts, Vice President Global EHS; Allergan plc

David Eherts oversees the worldwide EHS function for Allergan, plc, a rapidly evolving branded pharmaceutical company, ranked #1 by Forbes in its list of top 17 global large cap ($50+ billion) pharma companies.

 

Since 2014, Eherts guided Allergan in decreasing global total recordable incident rate significantly (39% reduction 2016 vs. 2015; 36% reduction 2015 vs. 2014; and, a 48% reduction 2014 vs. 2013). It was accomplished by adopting a new view strategy of encouraging visible leadership and strong employee engagement, i.e. over 1,000 management-led site walk-throughs annually and a Good Observation rate for Operations' employees of 225%. In addition, $25M in investments was approved to eliminate unsafe conditions and exposure to potent pharmaceuticals globally, the investments yielded strong returns. Eherts led similar environmental successes as the company is now recognized as a leader in Sustainability and CSR as evidenced by the 2015 Newsweek Green Ratings (#2 greenest of all companies in US, #3 globally), EPA Energy Star Partner of the Year, listing on the DJSI and the CDP Annual Report.

 

Prior to Allergan, Eherts has worked over 35 years in the fields of Safety and EHS starting as a toxicologist in Pre-Clinical Drug Safety Assessment at Merck. He moved to EHS and has held positions of increasing responsibility at Merck, sanofi-aventis, Purdue Pharmaceuticals and most recently, Aviation and Product Safety at Sikorsky Aircraft as their Vice President and Chief Safety Officer. His experience and expertise span aviation, environmental toxicology, occupational health, potent compound control and management systems in the aerospace, healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. Eherts holds Bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Biology and a Masters and PhD in Environmental Toxicology from Drexel University.

 

Externally, Eherts has served on the Federal Whistleblower Protection Advisory Committee at the appointment of the U.S. Secretary of Labor. He also serves on the advisory board for ORCHSE's Executive Business Issues Forum, on their New View of Safety Taskforce and on the board of directors for Occupational Knowledge International (an NGO dedicated to preventing overexposures to toxic chemicals in developing countries). In his spare time, he's an adjunct professor at New York Medical College and at Tulane University where he teaches courses in EHS Management, Environmental Toxicology, Finance, Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health.

Noelle Harvey is a Product Director at Enablon, responsible for leading a team of product managers and owners in EMEA to deliver the Enablon application roadmap. With experience in complex enterprise EHS software implementations, she has advised clients on how to efficiently use web and mobile technology to address organizational EHS risks and how to measure the value of having those systems in place. She now works closely with Enablon clients, partners and analysts to understand where Enablon technology should be expanded to better manage EHS risk programs and improve the value generated from them.

Danyle Hepler is a Corporate Health and Safety Manager at Haley & Aldrich. She has more than 15 years of collective industrial and consulting experience in managing environmental, health, and safety compliance programs. Ms. Hepler is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), a Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA), and a Certified Environmental and Safety Compliance Officer (CESCO).

 

Ms. Hepler supports the growth of the health and safety profession globally by being a delegate member on the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to the International Standard Organization (ISO) on Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001), and nationally by being a contributor to the 6th revision of ANSI/ASSP Z590.3-2011 American National Standard: Prevention Through Design: Guidelines for Addressing Occupational Hazards and Risks in Design and Redesign Processes. She is also currently a voting member for the ANSI Z10 Accredited Standards Committee for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, leading the Systems Thinking as well as the Usability and Graphic task groups and is on the Editorial team that guides and develops the standard and the Guidance Manual.

Christine Chui Lee, Products Director; convergence consulting LLC

Christine Chui Lee is Product Director at convergence consulting LLC, which specializes in providing strategic and operational support for corporate multi-country (international) environmental, health and safety (EHS) projects and programs. Christine regularly liaises with in-country EHS professionals from over 70 countries to develop and maintain EHS compliance tools for multinational corporations in the service and retail sectors, and those with commercial office operations. Prior to joining convergence, she worked 18 years for a U.S.-based management consulting firm where her client focus was helping commercial entities and federal government land management agencies implement EHS processes and systems that emphasized continual improvement and enhanced long-term outcomes. She also provided strategy and direction for the firm's sustainability practice.

 

Christine holds Bachelors degrees in Biology and French Area Studies from Cornell University, a Master of Public Health from the Yale School of Public Health, and a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. She resides in the greater Washington, DC area with her family, and longs for the day when it will be safe and allowable for her to visit her favorite natural areas.

Mr. Levasseur is an Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist for Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation’s Pittsburgh, PA regional office. He joined Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation in 2011 and has been responsible for the development and management of several environmental and regulatory compliance processes for Cabot’s enterprise asset compliance system. His first responsibility, which he still retains today, is managing Cabot’s residential water quality program in Northeast Pennsylvania. He currently serves as an elected municipal official in his community where he is leading initiatives to improve local sewer and storm water infrastructure. This is a pursuit he has been engaged in since his involvement with research concerning freshwater inflows to bays and estuaries at the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies in Texas. He has previously held board positions with the World Affairs Council of South Texas, ENERGIS Board for the Geospatial Information Technology Association (GITA) Mid-Atlantic Chapter, and his municipality’s planning commission. Mr. Levasseur holds a Bachelors from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and a Masters from the University of Texas at Austin’s Jackson School of Geosciences.

As an environmental, health and safety champion, Lara Malatesta is on a mission to help change the landscapes of corporations. With over 20 years of experience as an EHS leader, Lara's differentiator is to align with the mission of an organization to seamlessly integrate value-add elements of environmental, safety and risk management to existing business imperatives. Lara's ability to deeply listen and understand what keeps her clients up at night, makes her an excellent partner in co-designing solutions that not only work, yet have a positive and sustained impact within the organization, their customers and communities which that they serve.

 

In addition to deep subject matter expertise, Lara's zest for continuous learning and improvement has been fueled by her experience working within and with large, complex and dynamic corporations, such as Aramark and Exelon, where she has worked in industries, such as education, healthcare, sports and leisure, utilities and consulting. This has afforded her the ability to understand the unique needs of each industry while building strategic insight and best practices that apply and can benefit all. Currently, Lara is the Director of Environmental Risk and Compliance for Aramark, a Fortune 500 global provider of food, facilities and uniform services, within the Global Risk Management Department that supports more than 270,000 employees in nearly 20 countries.

 

Lara obtained her Masters of Science in Environmental Pollution Control, as well as her Bachelors of Science in Environmental Resource Management from Pennsylvania State University. During her tenure, she served as a Teaching Assistant and Instructor for the Environmental Resource Management Department. Lara's passion for making a difference in her community has translated to various involvement and affiliations such as Board of Director or Trustee positions with the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education of Philadelphia and Society of Women Environmental Professionals, to name just a few. Lara's unwavering commitment to raise awareness on how to protect people and the environment through employee-focused, practical solutions is also greatly inspired by her desire to make the future better for her three young sons and husband where they reside outside of Denver, Colorado.

Meghan Mann is a Senior Solutions Engineer, who has been with Enablon for close to 9 years. Meghan is responsible for being a functional expert with the Enablon solutions and matching client and prospective client requirements to the right tools. Meghan has been in the QEHS software space for over 15 years both on the services and implementation side as well as the sales side. She has assisted with consulting, implementing and selling QEHS software solutions to every type of Industry under the sun, including Pharma, Aerospace, Food & Beverage, Energy and FMCG. Meghan holds a BA in Environmental Geography with a focus on Human Impact on the Environment & Sustainability and a BSc. in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Guelph, Ontario. She lives in Toronto Ontario.

Tom Martin, CIH, CSP, Senior Managing Consultant; Ramboll

Tom Martin has over 30 years of experience in occupational safety and industrial hygiene consulting. He has created and implemented solutions in areas such as machine safeguarding, process safety, incident investigation, risk management, health and safety training, auditing, construction safety, expert witness and acquisition due diligence. Tom has specialized skills in human error risk assessment and management, energy control procedure development (lockout/tagout), utility safety processes and combustible dusts. He has provided client support in various industries with OSHA citations and citation abatement. He has also provided clients with timely assistance and guidance following serious injury/fatality events and their aftermaths. Tom has broad experience advising and assisting with health and safety compliance programs (federal, state and provincial) and providing strategic support to litigation teams. He serves on the industry advisory board for the Occupational Safety and Health Program at Oakland University, and served as chair of the American Industrial Hygiene Association's consultant's special interest group (ConsultSIG).

Michael Miller is Vice President of EHS, Risk Management, & Sustainability for Advance Auto Parts since July of 2017. At Advance Auto Parts, Michael is responsible for the safety of over 72,000 team members across 50 distribution centers, over 5000 retail stores, and 17,000 vehicles. Michael is responsible for strategy and deployment of environmental compliance and sustainability programs across the company. Michael is also responsible for the risk management and insurance programs including strategies to reduce the total cost of risk. Michael is a member of the Supply Chain Leadership Team, ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) Committee, Compliance Committee, Enterprise Risk Committee, and overall company Leadership Team.

 

Michael is a champion of Advance's inclusion and diversity agenda and is the National Leadership Chair of Advance Pride & Allies, a team member network fostering visibility, growth, and inclusion of LGBTQ team members and customers. Michael is also an executive coach for the Advance Officer Development (AOD) program.

 

Michael is on the Board of Directors and Treasurer of NAEM. Michael has been an NAEM member since 1997 and attended his first Forum in 1998. Michael has been a facilitator and speaker at several NAEM Forums as well as other safety, risk, environmental, and sustainability industry conferences.

 

Prior to AAP, Michael was Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety for Dean Foods Company for 6 years. Prior to Dean Foods, Michael was the Director of Risk Management at Apex Tool Group overseeing all Risk Management, EHS, and Product Liability. Prior to the creation of Apex Tool Group, Michael was a Global Director of EHS for Danaher Corporation. Earlier in his career Michael spent several years at Textron in EHS roles of progressively increasing responsibility. Michael started his EHS career in college working at Texas Instruments.

 

Michael is a graduate of Clark University in Worcester, MA with a degree in Environmental Science & Policy. Michael attended Columbia University conducting climate change research at the Biosphere 2 Center in Oracle, Arizona. Michael completed post-graduate work at Clark University in Environmental Risk Management and Bryant University in Smithfield, RI where he studied Project and Program Management. Michael is a certified project manager and Six Sigma Green Belt. Michael has extensive training in lean, environmental remediation, sustainability, process safety management, risk management, and behavior-based safety.

 

Michael — originally a native New Englander — and his husband, James, now call the North Hills area of Raleigh home. Michael enjoys skiing, traveling, and spending time with family in Florida and Germany.

Justin Morris has been a leader in the evolving video security market for over 10 years. As the EVP of Strategic Solutions for EyeOn Technologies in Memphis, Tennessee, he heads a team of system engineers to design and deploy solutions-based vision systems. Morris is former board member of the CSCMP and is actively involved in the AAGM. EyeOn is an award winning Gold Partner of MOBOTIX AG with over 1000 deployments across the US.

David Newman is Executive Director of Health and Safety for Comcast, a $95B technology, media and entertainment company. His team supports 100,000 employees, has over 90 EHS professionals, and 3,000 sites around the US and abroad. His responsibilities include proactive injury measurement, data and management systems, fleet safety and forward-thinking accident reduction programs.

 

Prior to Comcast, Mr. Newman was with Millipore, a life sciences division of Merck KGaA, where his roles included Global Head of EHS, Facilities and Sustainability, Director of Supply Security, and Plant Manager. Prior to that, he worked in EHS in the semiconductor industry. He has lectured at Harvard Business School and UMass Boston, and has master's degrees in Public Health and Industrial Environmental Management. He is also an active EMT and Fire Lieutenant

Rick Taylor has been with Parker Hannifin Corporation, a Fortune 500 Company based in Cleveland, Ohio, for 28 years. Rick started at Parker as an environmental engineer and has progressed through various assignments within the group to the present position as their Corporate VP of Environmental, Health and Safety. He has enterprise responsibility for the sustainability program, environmental stewardship program, safety, energy procurement, resource conservation, EHS compliance, new construction projects and the Parker Foundation program. Prior to joining Parker, Rick worked for BP America as a Research and Development engineer in the field of industrial pollution treatment systems.

 

Rick holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Akron, and an MBA from Baldwin Wallace College. He is presently a member of the Sustainable Cleveland Stewardship Council, the past President of the Board of Directors for NAEM, on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross Northeast Region and the Board for the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

 

Rick is a hiking and fishing enthusiast, and he and his wife currently reside in Solon, Ohio.
